Privacy policy
- Wallume has no accounts. We don't collect your name, email or any other personal data.
- No ads and no advertising tracking. From version 1.0.2, anonymous usage data and crash reports go to Google Firebase, and you can turn them off in the app.
- Notifications are off unless you turn them on: from version 1.0.3, about one a week when new wallpapers arrive.
- Your favourites and settings stay on your device, and in your phone's own backup if you use one.
- Wallpapers are loaded from Wallume's content server, hosted by Cloudflare, which sees the requests your device makes.
Who we are
Wallume is a wallpaper app for Android and iOS. In this policy, "we" means the developer of Wallume. You can reach us at amlab.devs@gmail.com.
Data stored on your device
Wallume keeps the following on your device. It is never sent to us:
- The wallpapers you mark as favourites
- How many wallpapers you have downloaded
- The wallpapers you recently downloaded or set, used on your device to suggest similar ones in "For you"
- A copy of the wallpaper list, so the app opens quickly and works offline
- Whether you have finished the introduction screens
- A random support ID (for example WLM-AB12-CD34). It is created on your device and only leaves it if you choose to share it with us when asking for help.
If you back up your phone (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone), this data is included in that backup and restored when you set up a new phone. That backup is stored by Google or Apple under your own account; we never see it. Uninstalling Wallume deletes the data from your device.
Wallpaper images
The wallpaper list and images are served from Wallume's content server (wallume-content.pages.dev), hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When the app checks for new wallpapers, or you browse, preview, download or set one, your device requests the files from that server. Like any website, Cloudflare receives your device's IP address and basic technical information with each request in order to deliver the files. We don't use this to identify you. Cloudflare's handling of that data is covered by the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Usage data and crash reports
From version 1.0.2, the Android app uses Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) so we can fix bugs and learn which wallpapers people like. It sends:
- App activity: which screens you open, and which wallpapers you preview, download, set, favourite or share (by wallpaper ID), whether you skipped the introduction, and how many results a search found. Never the text you search for.
- Crash reports and diagnostics: when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error: the error, app version, device model and Android version.
- An app instance ID that Firebase creates for this installation, so events from one app can be counted together. It isn't linked to your name or email.
It does not collect your advertising ID or Android ID, and the data isn't used for advertising or ad personalisation. Firebase also receives your device's IP address with each request; Google uses it to estimate your country and doesn't store it. Google processes this data for us as described in Firebase's privacy information. Analytics data is deleted automatically after at most 14 months.
Turning it off: in the app, open You → Your privacy choices → Turn off. The app then stops sending usage data and crash reports.
New wallpaper alerts
From version 1.0.3, the Android app can send you a notification when new wallpapers arrive, about once a week. It is off until you turn it on: the app asks once, after you first download or set a wallpaper, and you can change it any time under You → New wallpaper alerts.
When you turn alerts on, Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) creates a messaging token for this installation, so that the notification can reach your phone. The token isn't linked to your name or email, and we use it only to deliver these notifications. If usage data is on (see above), Firebase also records that a notification was received or opened.
Turning it off: in the app, open You → New wallpaper alerts → Turn off. The app stops listening for alerts and deletes the token. You can also turn off Wallume's notifications in your phone's settings.
Permissions
- Internet: to load wallpapers.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): asked only if you turn on new wallpaper alerts.

Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply to you. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent data, and we don't share it with anyone except Google Firebase and Cloudflare, which process it for us as described above.
Children
Wallume is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If Wallume starts collecting more data (for example through accounts or ads), we will update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above.
